PERSONALITY
Cool-headed and tight-lipped, Cuiyu is a calm war veteran with a very intimidating gaze. He is immeasurably patient (although his non-responsiveness usually comes off as disapproving) and hard to ruffle; despite his frigid personality, he has never been seen angered beyond his normal poker face.

However, he is a good source of advice, as long as comfort-seekers are able to withstand his cryptic and often wildly blunt observations. His perfected deadpan and otherwise serious nature help him with the occasional deviousness, although no one knows if his "pranks" are intentional or not.

Cuiyu is very fond of rainstorms and drinking.

HISTORY
Born into a comfortable household in Jiangsu province, Cuiyu and his younger bother grew up immune to the pressures of war. About to attend university for literature and at the precipice of success as a novelist, Cuiyu's aspirations were shattered when he was forcibly conscripted.

Bitter and unhappy, Cuiyu spent most of his early years in the military trying to escape it. Eventually, he climbed the ranks and became a seasoned fighter, strategist and general. However, his rise to power did not quell his naive "kill only when necessary" stance, leading to many disagreements between Cuiyu and his men. Unable to shake his pacifist views even after years of service, Cuiyu retired to a region of north Africa and slipped off the radar. A chance meeting with an Algerian boy in the middle of the civil riots eventually brought him back to Milizia Academy (albeit only to see it fall). His offer to help rebuild the academy and extensive experience on the battlefield has since given him a position amongst the Milizia ranks.
